If you are sewing a purse or a handbag, this item is a must! Pellon® 525 Decovil Light is a lightweight, softer and more flexible alternative to the 526 Decovil. It is a nonwoven, iron-on interfacing with a flexible yet leather like handle. It is tear-resistant, but also dimensionally stable and easy to shape. Furthermore it is resilient, resistant to bending, punchable and the cutting edges stay tight. Best suited for the creation of hats, belts, bags and small fabric bowls as well as home decor projects. Easy to sew and great for use with synthetic or natural fabrics.

General Directions:
1. Place the interfacing with the coated side on the wrong side of the fabric.
2. Next, cover with a damp cloth and press the iron carefully for about 6 seconds,
step by step over each area.

It's a good idea to test the product with your fabric before proceeding with your project.

Fiber Content: 45% Polyester, 30% Viscose, 25% Polyamide

Machine wash finished project warm in gentle cycle and tumble dry low, or dry clean.

    Game changer for bag construction

Posted by Sandy on 7th Feb 2021

This product is very hard to find right now, so I was glad to find a source for it here at Quiltbatting. I am sewing bags and purses, and many need a stabilizing foam or fleece interfacing. These materials, though necessary, add bulk and can make the bag construction difficult. Decovil Light, however, is very thin compared to other interfacings but gives the bag nice structure, a very professional look. It is fusible with your home iron - just remember to put a damp cloth over it when ironing to the wrong side of your fabric, and let everything cool for 30 minutes to let the glue set. Thank you, Quiltbatting, for carrying this hard to find product!
